    Saguaro Lake, Az Kayak Hang

Got out to lake at sunrise Saturday morning, temp mid 50's water calm. There was a Fishing tournament going on as I was putting in at a sand beach about twenty bass boats headed out, shot gun start. Figured the fishing was good but the pressure was bad, oh well great day for a paddle. Fished my way out to the Boat Camp, figured it was about an hours paddle time to travel the five miles. Love this Kayak, easy to paddle along, stable even in wakes and tracks great. There was a couple of camp sites occupied, so I went to the far end where I could beach the Kayak( kind of Rocky) After I got set up at camp a group of Boy Scouts Paddled in on Canoes and Kayaks and set up on the other end of the camp area. I noticed that there was some hammocks being used so I Went over to check them out and invited the leaders and anyone interested to check out my set up, plugged the Forum for help and further info. Think I might have helped some and set some on the converting bug, they seemed interested in the setup and weight savings.
Later that night I woke up with a start, to something bumping me. I had left some gear under the hammock ,(no food or trash, hang that cause of Raccoons and Rodents). This was a rarity, a Ring Tailed cat. Yelling is my first instinct to scare the animals off, but at first I thought it was a Skunk, but no smell. Later he came back and woke me again for a second look around and that time I was convinced it was a Ring tail.
Got up Sunday morning and fished my way back. weather was great for paddling mid 70's sunny, water was like rolling glass. Kayak handled the load great, Volume wasn't an issue. Rim Lakes will be another good Float this summer.

I like the fish finder in the Kayak. Looks like another nice AZ hang spot. Ringtails are pretty entertaining at times and pest at times. Saw a bunch of them in Grand Canyon. They even range as far as central Texas, where I live.

Ringtail, or Miner's Cat, is the AZ state mammal. I agree that rig is pretty cool. rod holder? nice!

Fish finder runs on 8 aa batteries, finder and scotty rod holder are mounted on a Mad Frog Gear Lilly pad that attaches with clips so it can be removed. love the setup for fishing, far enough forward as to not interfere with paddle strokes. As far as the Ring tail, this is the third time I've seen them, always catches me off guard as to what I'm seeing. They're pretty neat and move on pretty quick.
