I usually use a small dry bag for my extra socks and puffy jacket or vest. Only because it's easier to grab something during the day if I need it.

The "Search" function is your friend!
Ok, thank you Jerry! Time to go get some trash compactor bags!
Another option is to use the hammock itself as a stuff sack for the insulation, and then pack the one bundle in a waterproof bag.
Already done, It's called a Black Bishop Bag
To see mine in use go to: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LwuKSl7esTo
Inside the big gray bag I pull out early in the video is: Blackbird 1.0 double layer hammock, 3/4 UQ, BBO, 1X UQ & the foot end of the suspension for the hammock.
My BBB is just right for holding all that AND it easily fits inside my Ohm pack. In "real life" it is actually put in the very bottom of my pack, on top of that is my TQ in it's own stuff sack & then everything else. I like doing it this way because I can get set up in 30 - 40 seconds (Unless I'm showing off or in a hurry, then it's 3 - 4 minutes ). For me, adding on the underquilt takes an additional 30 - 50 seconds, yea not much but that's time I can use towards getting water or fixing food or whatever. AND when it's cold, it's 50 seconds sooner I get in my nice warm bed.
When you have a backpack on, no matter where you are, you’re home.
PAIN is INEVITABLE. MISERY is OPTIONAL.
Doctari - I've watched your video in the past a few times & often thought about the system you use to pack hammock, insulation etc.
I like ability to pack each piece individual - as I use it to shape my pack. However in winter leaving UQ hammock & TQ altogether sounds like a possible option
Do you know the approx size of the bishop bag? length & width?
thank you!
