I know some of you are using one stuff sack for your hammock, TQ and UQ. What size are you using for that stuff sack? I'm thinking I wanna do the same thing so I don't have to stuff everything in individual stuff sacks. Thanks

It all depends on your setup, what size quilts your using, and hammock.
One good trick is to do away with all the bags and stuff your rig directly into your pack.
(it is just a big stuff sack, most have compression straps) Then pile in the gear you'll need during the day. Tarp in an outside pocket, since it is normally wet or damp.
For designing a bag/stuff sack, try using a large pillowcase. Smash it full of your set up, squish it down till its where your comfortable compressing things, and measure the end resulting "bag". Add a inch or two for hem allowances.

I used a Granite Gear Drysack 25 L on my last rafting trip. It was perfect for WBBB, 3S Incubator, and 3S Burrow. I wanted a little extra protection so I had the dry sack inside a huge heavy duty dry sack. Same set up worked with my wife's SB, Winter Incubator, and Sierra Sniveler.
I just stuff my TQ in the bottom of my pack and next I stuff my hammock with UQ attached. No stuff sacks needed. Makes setup and packing up quick and easy.
i just got one of these:

it's light, well made and can fit a wbbb dl, whoopies, straps, jrb mw3c and a sleeping bag no probs.
I'm with gargoyle and southmark, although I line my pack with a trash compactor bag. The quilts go in first, followed by the hammock, then I squish the air out and twist the top closed and tuck in the tail to keep it from expanding again. Compact and waterproof, and it fills all the corners at the bottom of my pack.

I have been thinking about this for a few years now, I always come back to the thought that if I put my clothes in a separate dry bag and my insulation in another dry bag, if one develops a leak I still have some dry insulation!
I keep going back to this product http://www.granitegearstore.com/eVen...s-P110C15.aspx but I haven't gotten it yet!
I know of soooooooo many hikers that use a large dry bag to hold all insulation and clothes have hiked thousands of miles with very minor issues if any!
For me, this is still up in the air!?!?!?

I have a med Alpine stuff compresion sack, and an XL Alps. It fits in both, but Its tight in the med. with little space to compress, and in the XL there is plenty of room for other gear. The large alps would probably be perfect fit. Stuffed in sack CJH NX150, winter incubator UQ, and no snivler TQ. These style comp.sack makes a ball shape when compressed. I would like to try one of these from this thred.http://www.hammockforums.net/forum/s...ad.php?t=29949
I think compressing along the length would be better for packing.
To all that stuff directly into your pack. Do you need to empty your pack before you can remove your hammock, and quilts?
