Just wondering if anyone else is planning on going to the Linville Gorge the week before this hang?
It'll be a good full week of exercise that's for sure. Hiking for a few days and kayaking after that. Nice!

Would love to say "ABSOLUTELY !" but work has me in the office until Thursday at lunch time. I am planning to make my way to the island then, start bringing some stuff over and etc. May hang Thursday night but that will depend if my mother-in-law is whipping up a spread for dinner or doing leftovers. May need to return to Columbia on Friday to pickup my rugrats after school if Momma needs to work that evening at the hospital, don't know her schedule yet. If thats the case, I'm hopeful there will be others on the island prior to my departure so that I can leave my setup under a "gaurded" eye. I think ChickenWing is also planning to hang Thursday night so that just may work out.

Possible chance of me getting to the Big Ditch in July if an AT trip doesn't work out. Looking to go for 5-7 days. . .

I will be working that week so I will only be able to make the GI hang. My plan is to come in and set up Thursday afternoon and go into work on Friday. Depending on my workload, I hope to be back on the island by early Friday afternoon with my children. I would love to be able to stand guard over your gear for you Muskrat, but it doesn't look like it will be in the cards.

No problem . . . wasn't sure what your plans are. Worst case scenario I'll just break it down and stash it all somewhere.

If I can get ferry service to the island, I may try to come up on Thursday.

I can probably arrange that pending on what time you get there. My inlaws live on the lake and will probably shuttle most of my gear and extras for the weekend over to the island on Thursday. More than likely I will be riding over on a jet-ski. If timing works out, I can ask them swing by the marina and pick you up or . . . you might be the first candidate for the "Redneck Ski"

Pretty feasible to think we can work something out. . .

Sounds good. I'll figure out an arrival time, as it gets closer. Probably early afternoon.

I should be able to be there early Friday morning. I don't mind standing guard of the stuff.

Yeah, I'm sorry I can't help ya'll out with "guard duty". I just can't pass up "The Big Ditch" time though! I know you understand.

If all goes well though, RF & I should be there around noon on Friday. It's gonna be a great time on the island!

Muskrat, I'm looking forward to making a wake behind the canoe again!
