insultex inside or outside the down??

I have top quilts and under quilts of down and insultex. I have used them when cold with the IX on the outside. I used them together the other night at 45' and I had moisture by my feet on the down. I have read here about having the IX on the inside. My question is should I have the IX on the inside or out and does the temperature make a difference and why? Thanks for any help.
I think I was too warm and moisture from my body went into the down but not through the IX. Whadda ya think.

    IX works either way, but...

If you want to be certain that you avoid condensation, put the IX on the inside. If you use IX outside the down, put another vapor barrier on the inside.

IX is wind proof, so it works well on the outside. The IX Hammock Sock performs very well in the wind, with a down UQ inside. However, to avoid condensation in your down, put a Baby Orca or another vapor barrier between the hammock and the down.

I remember reading somewhere that if it is really cold to put the IX between you and the UQ and if it is just a little colder than the UQ can handle, then to put it under the UQ. Can't remember why or if I am correct.
