Another option not mentioned here... supplement your 3S quilt with IX... either the bottom part or a sock type... that adds about 10 - 15 degrees of warmth. That will cover you in the colder temps. Not sure if the total cost would take it out of your range though unless you can sew your own IX?

This is probably going to sound like a stupid question, but what's an IX

Not stupid at all. Stupid is not knowing and not asking. IX is Insultex. MacEntyre makes some good products with it. The sock might be an option for extreme cold weather camping, but since your new UQ is 4-season, not 3, you probably don't need it unless you go north (way north) or up (gain altitude). In either case, don't forget you still need trees.

See links at the bottom of Mac's member page.

That's Insultex, you can find out a little more here.
It's very practical if you need light insulation that is not sensitive to moisture.

Sweet, thanks guys! I'll check into it. For my top, I'm planning on using the sleeping bag I got a few years ago when I went backpacking through Europe after my first year in University. They seem to have a different version on their site now that is heavier, but this is what I have and so far it's been excellent through everything! http://www.deakin.com/shop/products/?p=6508

vie used my 3 season Incubator with 900 fp and no overstuffing down to 16* and for me that was about as low as I would go without adding something. Hope that helps.

It would be funny if after all of this the UQ wasn't compatible with the Trek Light Hammock!

Don't know if you saw the rest of the thread, but I don't yet

Worst case scenario it gets resold to someone else, though I'm 99.9% sure I could rig it to work regardless
