If I'm not mistaken there is a distinct difference between coated and regular sil-nylon correct? if not then I would be interested in that also. I always thought there was a difference between coated and regular silnylon.

I wonder if the flight satin fabric (here's an example) is like what is used on HAAB hammocks like ENO's?

Hmm... to clarify, I was talking about silnylon as in "silicone impregnated" nylon, not sure we are talking about the same thing. If it's just coated... still cool, but not the same thing, and most likely not completely waterproof. I'd sure like a sample! I'll send you a PM through this forum software.

Welcome to the forums. Was wondering if you were located in the NYC area, I work there and would rather pickup to save on the shipping. (Not in need right now but if I had to buy some )

Hey Rach08. I sent an e-mail to you. I'm interested in 60"+ 1.1oz sil (waterproof) camo (depending on the camo pattern) as well as 60"+ 1.9oz Olive ripstop DWR or untreated.

    Let me know.

So here's a question...has anyone ever actually seen sil in camo? In anything at all except a solid color?

As I understand it, the threads are soaked in silicon before weaving. You know how slippery sil is. To be successful in weaving a pattern you have to get dyed threads aligned just right. I'm pretty ignorant of texiles, but it strikes me that weaving sil threads is just going to be harder, especially to get differences in shading aligned.

I dunno, I better stick to computers...

i think you may want to be sure just what it is that rach has before you buy.
i'm wondering if there may be some misunderstanding of what silnylon is.
I too will something make and joy in it's making
