You said it's about half the weight of the ECW, right?
How small can you roll it up and pack it down?

I'm gonna have to weigh it. I haven't even put it in a compression bag yet.But this is what I have been looking for.... a hammock, a tarp, and a sleeping bag.

If it packs down similar to some of those Snugpak bags then it would be the ultimate bag.
It's not this small, is it?

I have a Snugpak Antarctica RE bag with the extra expanda panel as I am 5'10" around the shoulders this a very warm bag, however the combination packs down to the size of a bag of potatoes...

The thumbnail shows a wide bag and my wifes painted toe.

Alan, I don't think this will make the e-Lite Backpacker's gear list. On my big game scale it comes in at 7 POUNDS.
But for us rugged ground pounders to pack it from the truck to the campsite...it will be an essential cold weather bag.

Well heck, at 7 pounds, you're already saving 3 pounds over the ECW.
    What's gotten in to you?
Are you trying to go all ultralight on me with that new bag?!?

I think I am between the welterweight and heavy weight class of back packing. In these woods when ya say "backpacking" it means packing it back and forth to the truck.

Interesting. The published specs put it ~5.5#.

I don't know about different sizes but this has much much more room than my US GI ecw bag. The shoulders are wider and the foot box is huge for me.
After putting it in a comp sack it sqeezed down to the size of a basketball, maybe a tad smaller.

The center zipper is not a full length zipper.Although it is a top zipper/center,it goes down to just below the knees.Still easier to get in and out of than a side zipper bag.

Old Gringo, pm me an address and I will send you this to see if it fits your needs.
