Very nice. This would easily pass for a shelter in a Civil War reenactment, although the inside is far more comfortable!

Gringo, that's nice.
Ambulo tua ambulo.
Wow!
That is VERY cool, Dave!
Sweet! Like the southern exposure shot. It's like a home away from home.
That is really cool, while at the same time probably very warm.
Good luck,

Yes, it's dry as a popcorn fart.
I first saw the wedge style tent, as dejoha noted, at a reenactment. It was love at first sight, and wasn't long 'till I bought one (V1). I used it for years with cot/pad/bag and was very comfortable, but my back was gradually going south, and my search for relief led me to HF.
V1 was only 8'6" long...I could hang in there, and did, but just barely...lots of fiddle factor getting the hang right, while remaining centered in the tent. Finally traded V1 off last fall, and ordered V2. Perfect! 11'6" long...plenty of room to hang. As a bonus, the added space made the woodstove doable.
As Mac and fourdog have noted, canvas makes for a warm shelter. It is windproof, and because there is no floor, it captures and holds the earth's heat. A gas lantern and cookstove warm it nicely (the woodstove is really not necessary where I live, but I just like messing with fire.).
This all started because I'm a bit of a romantic. Only after living in a canvas tent for weeks at a time did I come to appreciate how practical it is. Yes, it's heavy, and requires more care than synthetics, but it warms my soul in ways that nylon never will.

For those that want to see more on hot tenting visit http://www.wintertrekking.com/
The nice thing about Dave's is it accommodates a hammock without customization. People use painting drop sheets quite often to make hot tents. As Dave says, not a backpacking thing, but good in winter for sledding, car camp etc. The Conover's book "Snow Walker's Companion is an excellent book on the use of hot tents and winter travel.
