Hey yall another noob here and a noob to hammocking. My gf actually introduced me to the idea. I kinda laughed at first but then realized that it would be a whole lot easier to bring along a hammock, instead of a tent, with my new kayak. I am new to that too. Anyways I found this site and did some research. I bought a eno double nest and working on a DIY suspension system. I didn't buy ENO straps thanks to yall, and happy with the choice. I love the idea of hammocking now. I have only been able to test it out two times so far. Both below freezing, lowest being 23 degrees. I stayed warm thanks to this site, Shug's videos, and Jeff's page. This is all with old sleeping bags and a simple yoga mat. Its not the best equipment but just testing the concept of a few different techniques. I plan to upgrade my gear don't worry haha. I'm getting started in the whole kayaking, hiking, backpacking deal so I really don't have the best equipment besides basic camping stuff. I have always been an outdoorsman who loves adventure, however just realized how easy it is to get into the more adventurous stuff. Anyways I hope to learn more from some of the more experienced hammockers here.
