Yeah, it's interesting that you mention that. When looking for diameter for Dynaglide, I came across 3 different sites with 3 different diameters for the same item.

does either hold a prusik better?

I use this prusik method for my ridgeline
    http://www.hammockforums.net/forum/s...ad.php?t=16650

For guylines - simples larks head around the tie out - a turn around the stake then back up to tie out to tighten down. Or sometimes a prusik method of tightening on guylines.

With that said-- are one of these lines preferred to use or are they somewhat equal?

    Thank you!
Thanks for the question, I was wondering the same thing.

Haven't tried Dynaglide to Dynaglide prussik because the stuff is slippery as heck and didn't even want to waste the dynaglide to try it.

    Attached specs for cordage.
    That's a cool specsheet.

I have been creating a spreadsheet to compare lines, I might steal the idea of fids and bury lengths and add them to it

Still getting the hang of it

For a tarp, all theses options are overkill. The stakes or tarp itself will be the first to fail.
That being said, I use 1.2mm dyneema from DIYGEAR at 26 grams per 100'.

I wanted to make my ridgeline of my hammock and tarp out of the 1.9 and the tarp lines out of 1.2 from DIY. They state the 1.2 is not good for splicing. I assume that the 1.9 works fine for splicing but the 1.2 does not.
Has u or anyone spliced this stuff?
    Spliced the 1.9?
Thanks getting ready to make a DIY order just want some insight.

The construction of the 1.2 has a hollow core just like the larger diameter lines. It simply takes finer wire, more fiddling with the bury, and more patience.
