Dyneema vs Dynaglide for tarp guylines/ridge lines?

Was wondering the difference between these 2?
    Is dynaglide lighter?
does either hold a prusik better?

I use this prusik method for my ridgeline
    http://www.hammockforums.net/forum/s...ad.php?t=16650

For guylines - simples larks head around the tie out - a turn around the stake then back up to tie out to tighten down. Or sometimes a prusik method of tightening on guylines.

With that said-- are one of these lines preferred to use or are they somewhat equal?

    Thank you!

Shadow, Dynaglide is pre-stretched Dyneema. Heated and stretched to be exact. Dynaglide is also a 12 strand while the zing/lash it are 8 strand.

The dynaglide has a higher tensile strength than the zing/lash it. I dont have experience with prusics on dynaglide but the zing/lash it holds a prusik pretty well. IIRC, a 3 wrap prusik made from 1.75 prusiked onto 1.75 will slip around 30 pounds. 4 wraps around 45 pounds.

I haven't done exactly what you are asking about but I find the dt to be touvhter to release and has a "stickyness" when sliding. Or at least that is my experience. They are both overkill for that application. Maybe we should unbraid some Zing-it and. See how much one strand will hold. That may be the gram geeks line of choice.

    Thanks for the explanation Opie

Been using zing it with no problems w/ 3 wraps for the prusik. Was looking to explore with something different.

What is the the weight difference between dynaglide and zing it/lash it? Isn't dynaglide 1.75mm?

Dynaglide with 1.5 mm accessory cordage quad prussik wrapped (have done 3 wraps but it slipped in high winds on the tarp ridgeline) works great as a tarp ridgeline and/or tieouts (I use both).

Haven't tried Dynaglide to Dynaglide prussik because the stuff is slippery as heck and didn't even want to waste the dynaglide to try it.

    Attached specs for cordage.

i've found companies diameter size to almost never be accurate, weight per foot will give you a much better comparison of 2 different lines
