I hear ya Mike, I've weighed most of my gear with exception to a few small items and I'm coming up so far with 18 lbs., 7.6 oz. without food or water. I'm guessing I should be right around 20 or so pounds when hitting the trail.

While test packing last night I noticed that if I leave my Top & Bottom quilts out of thier stuff sacks I actually gain more space inside the pack. I'm thinking because they compress where needed and fill where not. I believe this is the route I'm gonna take with these. It's worth a test anyway.

Forecast looks good with temps and not too much sun. Rain, who cares, its not a trip without a little rain.
Friday: Chance of rain in the afternoon, Hi-71, Lo-47
Sat.: Mostly Cloudy, chance of rain morning 20%, Hi-62, Lo-36
    Sun.: Partly Cloudy, Hi-64 Lo-40's

Last day of work, I think my boss actually wanted me to work tommorow, . No dice bossman.

    HamMike,
I just noticed this and was wondering if I could jump in at the last moment. It looks like you are planning to leave the trailhead at noon. I can't be there until one - at best. Could you give me an idea of where you are spending the night , or which direction you will be hiking in, so I could catch up later?

If this won't work let me know and I'll go hike my own hike.

    Don

Spoke with Mike by PM. I'm going. Looking forward to getting out. See you there!
