    I am Shug

My name is Shug and I joined here in 2007. Since then I have been cradled in comfort and my backpacking has been truly invigorated and mo' fun!
I get to the piney woods as often as possible for a 52 year old man and holler Whoooo Buddy a lot. I frighten wildlife......... I badly channel Karl Childers from SlingBlade as often as possible.
I owe a ton of my hammock tutelage and inspiration from JustJeff's Site
On one of my first hammock trips I discovered that my camera shoots video and since then I have been doing what I call the lazy man trip report .... a video.
Backpacking is something I have doing all my life. I have extrapolated a wealth of info from HF and it's members. Sometimes new folks think I am some sort of expert but I guarantee you that I am not!!!!! I just do videos so folks think I know a lot..... I don't really as I feel to always be learning!!!!!!
My philosophy is just get out to the piney woods and do it .... do not over-think it...... make mistakes and learn from them ... celebrate your success's..... inspire others to live life richly.

One benefit of this place is that I have made a lot of friends with a shared passion for hammocks and other gear. Some of them I have yet to even meet in person yet>>>> but I feel a kindred connection to them.
My main reason to come here is to have fun, share and be inspired.
Thankee all for helping me out and adding to my life.

    All secure in sector seven,
    Shug

I want to personally thank you for the videos and inspiration you give so many people on this forum, including myself. Yes, I know, you are just a guy like the rest of us, that enjoys the outdoors, but the fact you take the time to document and report your findings is a wonderful thing. Keep up the good work, I look forward to your posts and your videos. A "Whoooo Buddy" thank you from my sector to yours!!!!

Good thing you finally introduced yourself...I was wondering who this "Shug" guy was....

Seriously, I for one have been enriched by your videos and posts, and your willingness to share. "Makes my heart warm....mmmmmm...."

Some day I hope it works out to share a hike with you.

A good feller ifn I ever did see one! Seriously, I'm not sure if you're aware but your videos have brought plenty folks around to hammockin. I know that's what brought it to my attention. I see new member intros on a regular basis that state the same thing. Thanks for your lazyman trip reports! Hope to meet ya on the trail someday!
