I would feel more optimistic about a bright future for man if he spent less time proving that he can outwit Nature and more time tasting her sweetness and respecting her seniority. - E. B. White (1899 - 1985)
Most of us guys have an ego but I admit I look up to you Shug. It's not because
of your knowledge or skills set in the Piney Woods....it is because you give freely
and always bring a smile to everyone.
Example....I got my 80yo mom to watch one of your vids. She had abs. no idea
what your were up to but in just moments you had her cracking up.
There are givers and takers in this world. Shug is a giver!
Can't believe it, 5 pages and we haven't told him to check out these Youtube Videos!
Shug?? sounds familiar... I think I have heard of you before... welcome.
Welcome to HF Shug! you have inspired many -- some new and some rediscovering their love for the piney woods or maybe some who just wanted to learn how to use a netti pot??
we all have a common goal to hang between 2 trees in a cozy nest of ripstop & down. Fake it till you make it - works for me.

Thanks for introducing yourself, Shug. I've enjoyed reading all the replies.
Aren't you the guy I promised to cook for sometime?
I love the videos. It's not easy to make instructional entertaining, but you manage it.
A "Wooo Buddy" welcome to you!
I've learned a lot from your videos and your advice here. Thanks for sharing!

Glad to have met you. Great moments watching your videos. Thank you Shug for your talents.

Shug,
If it weren't for you and your videos, I'd still be sleeping on that hard old ground. And I want you to know that I hold you personally responsible for all the money I have spent since joining Hammock Forums. Actually I will forever be in your debt. It had gotten to the point that I was considering giving up backpacking because of my arthritis. I could hardly get up off my sleeping pad and out of my tent in the morning. You provided a remedy for that. A very fun, interesting remedy. And I have met other interesting people and made some new friends. So you may not be an expert outdoors-man (I think you're being modest.), but you are a fine representative for this community.
