If I can actually make it I'll be in a 14' Necky sit-in. For gliding in/out of the mangroves that seems to be about all I can handle. There are tons of oyster bars in this area and lots of razor sharp shellfish cling to the mangrove. If you've got a composite boat or one you're just really protective of you might want to leave it at home.
My last trip in this area was piloting a 17' aluminum canoe so we just bounced over the obstacles. A couple of the scouts in the group got cut up pretty bad wading near the oyster beds though.
Luckily we're not stuck with the tent sites. The underbrush is pretty thick but I'm sure there are several places a few hammocks can squeeze in. With a bit of moderate pruning I'd bet we can make some more space.
