Hey CC ! We just got back from doing an overnighter on the Palmetto Trail to test out some new gear. We are considering doing another one-nighter on the PT in the Newberry area. If you are interested in joining us, shoot me a PM and we can discuss further. There's about 3-4 of us that typically go out.

====> WELCOME! And so it begins again ... insidious, isn't it? But what a GREAT addiction to have! the DIY bug will bite slowly, draining your time and money until you get a family intervention. Then you will only tinker on weekends, find thrift shops, prowl the oddest sections of stores for anything that could be used in the woods.....

Enjoy it all! Hang with us here (and in the trees!), but remember the only rule:

That's what it is all about! Having fun.

We have all done it, continue to do it and will do it again. Changing and fine tuning your setup is ALMOST the best part! Wait for it....

The BEST part is simply hanging!

So when you gonna sleep in it?

I'm with you brother. Doing some purchasing here in the near future, and it is making me crazy. My wife just rolls her eyes at this point when I'm putting names of underquilts into a hat and then making my kids pick one. Then best 2/3... Then "Why am I doing this?"... Then best 3/4.

Glad to know that I'm not the only one like this. I was looking to buy Amsteel to make my whoopie slings before I even had my hammock in hand. I hung the hammock one time prior to switching over to whoopie slings just to make sure I was doing the right thing. I couldn't wait to get the hammock down and go convert it over.

Since I got it I have camped in the backyard once and have talked my son's scout troop into camping in a few weeks just so that I can hang again. It may be cold but I don't care at this point. Anything to hang some more.
