Also, we hang at Lake Georgetown quite a bit, pretty fun place to hike and hang.
Welcome to the Forum! Central Texas native here, and I always love taking a trip south to Austin. I was there last night actually to see Jim Norton for a comedy show. But it's good to see another Texas Hanger.

Hey Rat, I've been wanting to do the Georgetown Loop so maybe if you can get a weekend free we should go out there soon. Invite Possum and UncleMJM.

Thanks for remembering me on this one Cogneato!

FWIW, Alan, Texas Longhorns and I are doing a short hike into the primitive area of Bastrop State Park this Friday night and since there are more trees there than Texas hangers anyone and everyone is welcome.

Haha, how could I forget you on this UncleMJM!? If it wasn't so short notice I'd definitely try to make it out to Bastrop, but I usually work at my restaurant on Friday nights and the rest of this weekend are taken up by music. We'll do the GT loop real soon though.

Hey, looking to head out to Lake Georgetown tomorrow... Where do you hang camp there? Trying to figure out which sites offer that. 20 a night is silly to tree hang.

Ps, I'd love to hog hunt!

    Thanks

They are several primitive camps among the Goodwater Trail; this is where I usually hang. Of course, there is always stealth camping as well and they are many good spots for this along the loop.
