Going to ground with pacerpoles

Hi, looking at buying some pacerpoles.

Has anyone had any experience of using them for going to ground with a tarp, or with a tarp in 'porch mode' ?

I'm interested to know what experience people have of rigging trekking pole extenders, modifications etc - particularly as the handles on these trekking poles are ergonomic.

What did or didn't work for you in getting this to work - what advice would you give me / what mods worked for you ?

they are easy to hook to. they have buttons that tell you right from left. they pop up for easy tie off.

I've used my pacer poles for a porch extension on a tarp. All I did was to take the (long) line from the corner of the tarp, put a clove hitch on the pole just UNDER the funky handle, and then down to the stake. Seemed to work just fine. Should work for pitching a tarp also, there's a few inches of some kind of sheathing over the aluminum pole there that keeps the clove hitch from sliding.
