Hello from KY!
Hello Hammock Forums! This is CaptainMorgan here as you can obviously see.
First, no I am not a captain! Wouldn't mind being one, but sadly I'm not. Anyway, I am a relative noob when it comes to hammock camping, well really with everything. I grew up camping with my family, but always in the car with too much stuff we couldn't even pack it in the trunk. I am almost 18, so I am only now able to be able to gather my own kit and head off on my own. This summer I went camping with some friends from church, and realized that I absolutely love it. So I started by getting a job and now I'm starting to put together my kit.
Now onto how I discovered Hammocks!! I am really interested in simple and tried-and-true. I wanted to be able to take everything I want to go camping, or hiking since that's a necessity, inside a backpack. So, I started by of course going to YouTube and looking at what other people were doing. I found the NaturalBushcraft page and watched some of their reviews on hammocks, which like many people had never even considered that as an option! Then I found Shug. I guess thats all thats needed to be said about that! Also, ProfessorHammock contributed as well! As another math person, or quant? as he says I think, I really enjoyed his videos.
So now that I've introduced myself, I would like to say that this forum is pretty awesome. Real, helping people that like to CAMP!
