Me too. I'll send out some pics soon.
Ambulo tua ambulo.
Here's some pics...
This is a Stearn's poncho, reportedly a breatheable/waterproof material (similar to Dri-Ducks and Frogg Togg material. Kind of a papery feel) that I picked up at a local outdoor store. It's on my digicam Gar-traveler I used some pillows to simulate a person in the hammock.
Tied over the hammock ridgeline, slid off to the side for entrance/exit. Set to the side like this, would block the wind from that side as well.

Close up of the mitten hook and grosgrain attachment with shockcord. I attached the grosgrain at the four corners.

Slid over the hammock, ends are open for venting condensation (And that's as far as the poncho/cover reaches). I can turn the poncho diagonally if needed. But as is, it covers well and keeps off most drafts. The hood can be opened or closed for venting as well.

Spun under the hammock, shockcord is up on the ridgeline. This will keep any splash from the ground getting on the Under Quilt (which isn't in the pic, but you get the idea). Adjust shockcord as needed for proper fit. Tuck in the hood, if you'd like.

Four 3/8" grosgrain loops, Four mitten hooks, two lengths of 1/8 or 3/32 shockcord 20-30" long for adjustability, and one poncho. Around $25 total.
I like the poncho, but it packs kinda big (about the size of almost two nalgene bottles), fabric can rip on briars, etc. But using it multipurpose this way, it's a trade-off.
I copied this idea from some early forum threads and the Jacks used to sell a similar poncho. So I copied their idea of the over/under cover too.
PS. My wifes choice of wall color, not mine.

Gargoyle - I like the mitten hooks! and how the poncho can be attached under or over.
thanks for sharing!
the poncho I have is this http://shop.vtarmynavy.com/acu-poncho-p3549.aspx

Thanks.
I was playing with it today for an upcoming trip and stumbled on something cool.
I have 2 matching ponchos and if I turned one 180 degrees, the snaps lined up and snapped. Made an instant hammock sock. Has some gaps, but I fitted it to my indoor hammock and could feel the heat trapped inside immediately.
Baggy enough for the uq. Pop a few snaps and I'm in and out easy. Tied the upper ponchos hood to the ridgeline and that keeps the poncho from dropping to the ground.
Maybe it would work with your poncho, or a poncho and a liner?

ShadowAlpha,
What are the dimmensions of that poncho?
Is it military issue?
How much does it weigh?
What is it made of?
Thanks
