    Another newb question...l

Is the military parachute ripstop material good for making a homemade hammock? Even if it is a little heavier than some of the fancier materials that would be ok. I can get a 32' round chute for $50. Seems like I could make a VERY simple hammock out of this to get a head start and to solidify in my mind that a hammock is the way for me to go.

Problem will be the seams. From what I understand it's almost impossible to get a large enough section without a seam running through it somewhere.
    Trust nobody!

Breathability might also be an issue?

Does your local Walmart have a fabric department? The 1$ bin is a good place to get started.
