Pad cutting for Asym type hammocks

    Hi Guys,
    I just received 2 pieces of 72" x 48" Minicel Foam 1/8" and 1/4"

This is the supplier Brandon from WB recommends.
    http://www.foambymail.com/Minicel.html

I would like to make 3 separate pads out of this material.
1 winter full length for my HH Exped Asym. 40"W x ? straight or on an angle?
1 full length Spring thru Fall for my WBBB 1.1 double 40"W x ? tapered maybe angled for the foot box.
1 foot box pad for winter when I'm using a winter UQ on either hammock.

It's now time to start cutting and I have a few questions.

So my question to you asym hammock owners.
When you cut your pad did you do anything different to your pad for the asym sleeping position?

So my question to you 3/4 UQ users.
With a 3/4 winter UQ what size pad do you prefer for your foot box?

    thanks

My Deep Jungle came with a pad and it's straight cut on one side and asym on the other. I can measure it and give you the dimensions if you want.

Hi Chris, I would like to know the dimensions if it's not too much trouble.
    Thanks

I was pondering this exact thing this morning. I've looked at the pads people make with wings on the sides but in an asym hammock it really isn't necessary for the wings on the right to be as large or even there at all.

Don't hold me to this, but I think I remember Brandon posting directions on how he recommends cutting full length pads. IIRC, it was sorta coffin shaped, and had a couple of short cuts on each side to prevent buckling.

    I think.:eyeroll:

It's 72" long, 35" at the head end and 18" at the foot end. Like I said before, it's straight on one side and the other is asym cut. If you take a look at Sgt. Rocks video review of the Deep Jungle he shows the pad that I'm talking about. Hope this helps!
