we definitely need to discuss and form an action group concerning the hammock ban in the state park system.

Then you folks down in Florida need to makes some friends on the board of the FTA....Know anyone you can invite to this hang? Show them that it does no harm to trees and how tents make an imprint where hanging doesn't.

What time is everyone planning on arriving on Friday?

I plan on arriving around Noon on Friday. Got to make a stop up in Brevard County and pickup some wood. Its like 152 miles to the campsite for me.

I called today to speak with Parks Small Chief, Bureau of Natural and Cultural Resources of the Florida State Park office to see if I could interest him in coming down to Buck Lake on Saturday afternoon, but he is out of the office until Monday per his office personnel. I think it would a good thing if he could and would come. Many pictures will be available by Mark (Islander). But to see it first hand and have some dialogue with Florida hammock people could only be a good thing. Hope that is the consensus of us all?

I wrote to the FTA and sent along all the details. No word from them so far, but i am sure that we will have some group overlap. The hang ban is target one and we need to discuss it on detail. Inviting officials though is a great idea.

They sent out an email to the different FT chapters, I also posted on my chapter's Facebook page. Hopefully will get more people interested in the hang.

The chapter that I was affiliated with when I was a member was in Fort Myers. They have their meetings at the Bass Pro Shop every 3rd Thursday of the month. That would be on the 20th. If someone contacted them about a demonstration for a meeting (set up a hammock) and invited them for the weekend someone might come! Is anyone a member of the Ocala Chapter?
