Hi MOSKI,
Drop me a message when ever your trip cross this country. The jungle here is pretty much different than the one in Europe. Its densely thick with lots of undergrowth, and at some places, especially at the peak, it will be quite a challenge to hang our hammock. (Something that I need to figure out how).
I am yet able to test this our in the real jungle environment. It can be pretty cold but at most, only down to about 20 deg Celsius. I might need to put some foam mat under me but I do think that I don't need any top insulation. I will let you guys know when I finally managed to get out there.
Welcome to the madness.

Welcome aboard farizs. Great gear you’ve got. I am sure you’re going to love using it. And I loved your pictures and initial report.
Have a safe hike to the mountain and remember to report back in with a trip report.

Hi farizs - welcome to the forum![]()
Awesome - definately keep us up to date as to what solutions you come to in the tropics.
IMHO you will often need some minor bottom insulation even at above 20 celcius - particularly in the early hours of the morning when your core body temp drops. A bit of wind and moisture (e.g mist during rain) can get quite cold on the back even well over 20 celcius. Even an old synthetic sleeping bag that dosn't compress too well will work enough (though heavy to carry).
Have no doubt though, the cooling effect is mostly a good thing.
