Shug; good to see tarps and gear in harsh situations,,,see how they would fair,,,and like you said if you were in the hammock you'd be knockin the snow off as it came. I was wondering about it the last couple of days here in MNOTW as we got a foot of snow and then the temps got real warm like +5/40*. Its turned everything into heavy slop,,,Just got plowed out this morning. Welcome back Shug.

I am real proud of that ol' tarp.......
I detest the "slop" .... tough to shovel and just no fun.

    Discovery Channel

Shug, you need to send your videos to the folks over at the discovery channel or something. Les Stroud and Bear Grylls got nothing on you. I mean they provide some good information and all but wheres the entertainment value? Once you've seen Bear eat a goat's nut, the shock value is gone for everything else.

On a serious note though... you should pursue that avenue... if we all love you here, imagine a larger audience.

The darn firewall at work will not let me watch videos. So I've been waiting all day to see this and I was not disappointed. This is another outstanding Shug production. Thanks so much.

I have a few questions- you appear to have hung the tarp quite low to the ground; is this to minimize the wind getting in and stealing warmth? or to let the snow pile up around the long edges and form insulation walls? or both? or something else altogether?
(I ask because I hang my hammock rather high- every time I don't I end up bumping the ground/grass; also in DFW there is hardly ever snow, and certainly not like that!)
Thanks! KM (who likes to watch other folks playing in the snow, but rarely gets to do it..See comment above)
