    Moisture questions...help

2 weeks ago my friend and I did an overnighter. The temperature got down to about 40 degrees. It wasnt too and I stayed plenty warm other then my face.

Anyways all I used other then clothes was my 20F sleeping bag and a CCF pad I bought from Walmart for about 12 bucks. I didnt realize it until I was packing up the next morning, but the buttom of my sleeping bag and the top of my CCF pad both had some moisture on them. The pad was almost wet.

What causes this and how do you prevent this?
God saw all that he had made, and it was very good.

The ccf pad is a vapor barrier and traps the moisture from your body. Look through the "Pads" subforum in the Under Insulation forum for more info.

Closed cell foam pads do not breathe and so can collect condensation. It is one draw back of CCF pads.

There's a sticky thread in the General forum here. It is must-read info about vapor barriers for anyone hammocking in cold weather.

We have sticky threads for a good reason.
