OK, I need some help...
I'm looking to buy some hammock/backpacking specific gear for a friend who has ALOT of gear...I have a budget of about $100.
What gear would you buy for yourself if you had $100 to burn?
Maybe someone will hit a homerun!!

I think I would go with some cooking gear. Probably a nice titanium pot.
Be like Bob
Perishables like trail food.
The down pillow from ArrowHead is hard to beat along with a Black Rock down hat would be very nice.
I'd say the Bush Buddy Ultra, can go wrong thei second vote would be for a black rock hat.
Sometimes I like to hike and think, And sometimes I just like to hike.
Hiking is'ent about waiting for the storm to pass its about learning to hike in the rain.
AC we barely know each other...you shouldn't have.

Not as creative, I'll admit, but maybe a gift certificate to say, REI? No matter how much gear I have there always seems to be something else at REI I can go home with!
Other than that, I'd look for areas where the person may have a lot of gear but might still be looking for an upgrade or add-on. Black rock hat is a great suggestion, maybe some Possumdown gloves, both are pretty popular with this crowd. I like the pot suggestion too, but only because I'm hunting for a new cookpot at the moment
Let's see... maybe something like a wind shirt, gore tex socks, or some UL rain mitts? I like stuff that falls into the category of things you want to try out but aren't sure if you'll like it enough to buy it for yourself. Those tend to make great gifts - I got my Snow Peak 450 double wall that way. I couldn't convince myself to spend $45 on a mug on my own, but I sure do love it!
