I'd like to do a hang but that weekend is bad for me. I'm going camping at Forest Glen in IL that weekend.

Any intel on the state of water supply in Browning Hollow?
I was thinking of heading over there with my older sons in the Jan 28/29 time frame for an overnight.

I was there a couple of weekends ago. Some intel you can use....almost all of the outdoor water supplies are buttoned up for the winter. However, there is a faucet on the back side (on the outside) of the ranger station where you check in. Probably best to bring what water you need...

Planning on East Camp, Group Camp, or one of pay-for tent sites?

When I went up there in an attempt to find the Hoosier hang, I went up though the south side. Good Hike, just wish I could have found everyone . Would do it again.

was there halloween and it was BONE dry...we did get the same rain as you over thanksgiving, but even if it was enough (i doubt) whatever is there should be frozen solid.

which brings up a good point. it will be cold, possibly very cold, and while it isnt too far to carry adequate water, keeping that water liquid could be difficult.
This is assuming water is unavailable or frozen. (melting ice is fuel intensive)

in the last 3 weeks, we have had a total of 7 inches of rain.
WHile everything is as what Animalcontrol said, the creek was flowing nicely Tuesday afternoon. Plus we have 4 inches of snow right now, that will help.
