...i might have missed something, on this thread, but no one mentions net style of weaving hammocks... Like Mayan... Mexican...etc ...for better ventilation in hot/humid weather??

The problem for hiking hammocks with these weaves is that it does hold moisture. Not good for weight or keeping germs/bacteria down.
For home/inside use, the weaves are preferable even though they are heavier because they're stronger and breathable. Good for full time use.

From my limited experience, the weaved ones have more stretch..bounce..., so i felt more on a cloud...more weightless body.
It is fun, but for a whole night sleep, i preferred the Brazilian (for indoors... full time now, for years), because i liked the extra support feel it gives, over a weaved one...but in hot weather, i miss the breathability of the weaved...which i do not own, at the moment...but thinking about it, now.
(plus, it seems it is the original...so...)

Gear hammocks are great...love using them...(under the same tarp)
So...for day time use, whenever needed, when its really hot, one can enjoy
a lite weight, net style, shorter, cooler, gear hammock, and let the gear simmer in the main hammock...

On low, which is just enough, it does last 40 hrs on one charge. And I camp the barrier islands of the Everglades, and to be able to get away from the trees, and down on the breezy beach is big time. So I go treeless quite often with a tensa4. Double layer so I don’t get bit up.

for me hot weather means inside with the ac, but i have hammock ed in the heat before, and all the ideas are great ones, i have used my double layer (mosquito repellent) with bug netting (bugs again) hopefully find a nice breeze to wick the heat from you while you sleep, and a light blanket for early morning, and of course some thin shorts. works pretty well most of the time
