So Here's my Trip Report on the TEXAS HANG BY EastTexasHanger aka slowsmoke
The words from one of our favorite HF Forums members best sums it up for me...
    WHOOOOO BUDDY

First a Big Texas Thanks to UncleMJM an Alan for all the work putting this hang together.
Old Gringo for the firewood and KerMeagan for making the wood last all weekend.

Myself being a solo guy/ semi-hermit, and my first group hang, and with 40 or more people was a
lot different than I'm use to,but everyone was great that I talked to, Fantastic FOOD,
Awesome Gear and Info. Oh and did I mention the FOOOD!!

Alrighty then down to the good stuff, Where else but in TEXAS can you sit around campfire
and get to see a RAT and a Possum in a debate about a utili-skirt. I think this may still
be going on. Rat also Has a knife that would make Jim Bowie turn green with envy, and Rats
young son has knife skills too, this young man baton wood and made some pro quality roasting
sticks. He can also eat his wieght in marshmallows I believe..

Then there were the DIYers, I was so amazed at their skills that I forgot about my own stuff
    to show ,maybe next year.

The GEAR JUNKIES.. what can I say, from MollyMac Pack to the TEAR
DROP TRAILER and all in between so much gear so little time.

I believe everyone there left with some kind of wish list of gear that they wanted to build
or buy, but one person, and this person has the" Cogneato Scroll" Cogneato is an awesome
young man. He's like a sponge any info or tips he soaks up and uses it wisely, you can tell
by his choices of gear hes got or getting. I hope he wins the lottery he's going to need it

We also had an 07 AT Thru-Hiker with some great photos and stories thanks "gimpy" So much more but thats enough for now... So where we going this weekend LOL .
The Cogneato Scroll has been started! Thanks for the kind words ETH, the amount of information I gained this weekend was almost overload! I thought my brain might explode, and my stomach too from all the food.

I just arrived in California, and I'm hanging in the Angeles National Forest tonight. Thanks for the journey wishes Alan and everyone else. The drive here was extensive and I pretty much went straight through, so the hang tonight will be relaxing and much needed.

Again, I can't thank everyone enough for the info and food provided. This weekend really spelled out what fellowship is all about. Possum and Rat, you guys really shared a lot and I appreciate everything. I still don't know about the utili-kilt, but Trimron would make an awesome planet name!

There is really not enough words to express this hang. It was perfect to say the least. Again thanks everyone! Now it's time for this tired young lad to hit the hammock.
Hammocks are God's way of saying....."relax guy".

Hey Chris! It was great seeing you again. Can't wait until we're out camping and you show me your Venom stove!

I was so jealous, I ordered a Go-To stove kit from Stovemandan.

I had a great time. The scenery was awesome, the hang was superbly planned and most importantly, the great state of Texas made this beachcomber from Florida feel more than welcome! Here's a few pictures I took: hope they come out, I'm better at thread injecting than at photography
