    Mules Diy Blackbird

I just got done finishing my DIY BB. I now have even more respect for Warbonnet. This was a little hard to make and time consuming. One thing I discovered is that you can make a BB out of any gathered hammock!!!!!
The white tabs you see are there to fine adjust my under quilt. The little bags hung from the pullouts are to stow the pullouts for less tangling until setup.
Weight of my REAL BB is 2.5 lbs. or 40 oz.
Weight of this monster is 3.2 lbs. or 50 oz.
I love the way it lays. It lays much flatter than the original due to the fabric being thicker.
The bottom is made from polyester and each yard weighed 2.7 ounce.
The various pieces are made of similar fabric but are nylon.
Thanks to 1022 and many others for helping me understand how to make one.
I cut a separate set of pieces for a second one whenever I get a couple full days to dedicate to it.
Believe me, Brandon's price is fair on his BB's.

    Mule,
That looks great! But I thought the goal was to make it lighter.

I know you cannot get something for nothing. If I made it lighter it would not give me as flat of a lay. I will make me next one with some other fabric to make a lighter one. That way I will have a DIY light one when I am using a backpack and use this heavier one pulling my Dixon Roller Pack.

Looks great. I like the pouches for the pull outs.

I think only the first one is tricky. After that you realize you are only adding a rectangle and zipper on the one side and a couple of shapes on the other and do a cut and fit bug net. Once you see it, it's not hard to understand. Thanks for the comments, everyone.
