    sack size and materials?

So, getting ready to make some bags and would love your input. What do you use your sacks for, what size (circumference and length), and what materials?

Here are the sacks I'm looking to make:
    Food bag
    Hammock sack
    UQ sack
    TQ sack
    clothing bag
    first aid and toiletries

    any others??

    Thanks in advance.

Materials have been remnants of silnylon, netting and recycled worn out bedding sheets. Choice of material for bags is dependent on use. Pretty much use silnylon for any bag that goes into the pack. Ditty bags for items that can get damp and dusty or for bags within bags.

Hammock bags start at ~6x12" (stuffed size).
Under quilt and top quilt bags run from ~4 x10" to 6 x18".
Storage bags for the uq & tq are over sized using the old sheets allowing for flat uncompressed racking.
Everything else is pretty much random sizes dictated by the size of the scrap material. At this point I have enough options for size and shape that one of the bags should work fine for whatever purpose.
Smallest bag (1x7") was the most difficult to sew. The tent stake bag. Sewing the channel for the cinch cord was interesting.

I never worry about measuring mine. I generally turn all my leftover scraps into stuff sacks of various sizes when I'm between projects. The size of the stuff sack is often determined by the size of the leftover material. That way I always have several in various sizes for gear, gifts, projects, etc.
