Tbull55 - I got it at a local army surplus store... $18... make sure to check for holes before you buy...

I "think" this is the same thing I got...good luck

    bdbart,
How did you tie the ends to keep the bugs from getting in? did you sew tubes and insert cord to use as a drwastring?

Did the bug netting come as one big sheet or like a tube?

    thanks for any info!

I did not modify the bugnet any....I just keep 2 pieces of rope/cord (~1ft each) and bunch up the extra material at the ends and wrap the rope around it twice and tie an overhand knot... it works for me...no troubles yet

like a sheet..sort of... I think these were used to cover a pup tent. if you look a pictures of a pup tent, just imagine a bugnet that could drape over the structure

notice how the ends are pulled away from the tent...same design as bugnet

essentially like this... I don't have the dimensions... I can get them...if you want

the green tick marks are where there are reinforced patches for the ridgeline and holes to put the ridgeline trough...also has grosgrain tieouts at that point...not really useful in my setup

the red tick marks are where there are grosgrain tieouts... 2 on each side on the bottom (4 total).. and one above each of those further up the material... and one on each end

    12 total grosgrain "tieouts"

this might be hard to explain in words... really easy to setup though

essentially what i do is this... first hang hammock with ridgeline

put the ridgeline thru the holes on the top of the bugnet

center bugnet to hammock... and i have Single Line Friction Knot (thnx TeeDee) to keep the bugnet centered, but i don't really need to do this, just keeps things neet, I have used without them and it stays put

then i take tieout #9 and go under the hammock and tie #9 to #5....then I do the reverse...tie #10 to #6...next #11 to #7 and finally #12 to #8

    hope I didn't confuse you???

then I just gather the extra material at the ends and tie them up with the 1ft rope/cord I brought

    and hang bugfree

i did add some tarp tiedowns to tieouts #9-12 to aid in easy setup and tear down... and actually to prevent the net from tearing...

since it is a bottom entry bugnet, i noticed that when I exit (midnite nature call, or drowsy morning wakeups) I might step on the fabric and when i go to bring the fabric over my head, it will tear the fabric... but since I added the tiedowns, they will slip out of the tieouts instead of the fabric tearing

OK...........I have confused even myself while writing this...gonna have to make a movie and post it

    tiedowns

actually, this applies to bugnet or 'storage tubes'
I love my organza net. It only came in white, so I spray-dyed it with some black carpet spray-dye...

BTW: Love the tarp! Looks very cool! Mom's Rock!
