Arizona West Clear Creek Trip Report 2

SamuelJD and I Got up there Friday 9-10, just rolling on. Few mud bogs, drove through the grass some, bounced over boulders, dodged some Quads. at the Trail Head, ATT Smart Phone no service(old Razor would make the call). Hiked on down, it was steep, it was rocky, toes crammed, Knees acked. Pacing Beads count was 8/10 mile. Hey dejoha, the first thing we saw at the bottom was a pool with two nice 12"-14" trout. Tried there for a while and then it was off to find camp.
Found a nice camp with Rock recliners and a nice fire pit. Smashtorrent strolled on down before dark, said that SamD had rode up with him and started the decent. After a couple hundred yards realized that his Repaired Knee was not up to it yet, so he stayed at Trail Head to be Greeter for the Fellow Hangers. Shared his Radios with Smashtorrent so we were in contacted rim to creek camps.
It was about 50* or so and misty. After we had set up camp the mist started to get heavy-er, we really did not call it rain just noticed that things were getting wet, fire burned well. later SamD called down and reported snow falling up top. We noticed Sleet at the creek but were ready for fowl weather no problem. SamuelJD got a hammock and did a very good job of improvised Hang setup.
The next morning we realized that there were Questionable Trees up hill from camp and decided to relocate across the creek to a larger site, expecting more Hangers. Saturday afternoon Te-wa and Felicia arrived. Now we were Six with SamD Taking care of the Trail Head. Great company, Glad I was able to meet These Hammock Forum members.
Te-wa and Felicia missed out on the Petroglyphs. Across the creek and down an easy bench trail through the color changing trees about 2.5 tenths of a mile from the new camp were the Petroglyphs. Too bad others had to deface them, it is truly a shame.
I have attached some pictures and will try and upload some Video. Thanks to all and looking forward to next Hang.

Gnome, this is awesome!! The trip I missed! Thanks for the great photos. What time did you get down on Friday? We made it to the fork that splits to the two trailheads and drove down the Maxwell fork around 5 PM. I did not see any tracks and we couldn't hear anyone on the radio. I guess it wasn't meant to be. It got too dark for us to navigate much further on foot.

I'm glad to hear someone else got down there Friday. Nice scenery!

overall a goood trip. we finished our goodbyes to our new friends, and had some grub at a buddy's restaraunt, the Rimside Grill in Pine AZ. Thanks to those who came out! next hang: te-wa's superstition mountains. (are you in or are you in?)

Ha! Don't let te-wa fool you - his feet aren't that cute
Regardless, it was a fun trip with great people - was nice to know that there was another virgin hanger there too!
