    Noob in Central FL

    Hey Guys,
I'm a relatively new hammock hanger but not new to hiking/camping. I've had an HH Exped Asym for a few years but it generally stays in the gear closet. I just had a 2Q&ZQ add a zipper and now it's much more user friendly (I see HH offers this as an option now too).

It seems in FL it's either so hot I just want to stay inside with the AC or a bit chilly to be hanging. I'm hoping to change that pretty soon. Some volara foam is in the mail and I'm working on a DIY underquilt to help keep me warm. These forums so far have been a treasure trove of how-to and other general advice.

    Keep the good info flowing.....

Welcome to the HF forums. Another Florida hanger here. Loving the sleep I get from mine.

Give some thought to joining us in January for a "1st Annual Florida Hang".
Details to follow soon. As soon as we figure out just what they are.

Welcome to HF! As a fellow Floridian, I agree it's just too hot & humid to come outside in the summer, but winter is usually pleasantly cool. Of course, I take winter backpacking trips to the mountains of New England just so I can get away from Florida's low land and high heat!

Go to this link http://www.hammockforums.net/forum/s...ad.php?t=22269 to get details of the upcoming Florida group hang to be held on MLK weekend in January at Ocala National Forest. Attendance is mandatory!
