    hennessy without netting

Besides a Hennessy I have also a DD hammock.
When you turn the DD upsidedown you can lay on it without netting.
When the weather is nice I love to lay down in the sun in the hammock without netting before I start sleeping in it with the netting

I have the Hennessy with bottom-entry so I can't zip the netting away.
When I try to turn it upside down and lay on it the hammock-ridgeline makes it impossible to lay on it.

Has anyone tried to cut the ridgeline and sleep on the underside/backside of the hennessy? (so the netting is under the hammock)
I know you will have the sag but just for relaxing in the sun it seems no problem to me.
Just need a good solution (if it's an option) to connect the cutted ridgeline again when I turn it back to it's normal position when I go to sleep.
I think a lot of force is put on this ridgeline when the hammock is setup and I'm afraid to ruin it by just cutting it for a test !

I can modify my hh with zippers but I love the bottomentry, so modification would only be for zipping netting away when I 'ld like to lay down in the sun.
Cutting the ridgeline is cheaper...if I don't destroy it

me personally, I'd not want to cut that ridgeline. I'd buy (or make) one of those cheapo hammocks that you can find on amazon and just use it instead. I think I found one of mine for about $16 and no shipping charges and then I changed out the ropes to amsteel.

There have been those in years past that have modified the ridgeline in the HH in order to make it removable.
