    my new diy ultralight

hey guys, so i just finished my diy ultralight gathered end hammock, and took it out for some hanging fun. It's made of 1.5oz ripstop nylon that i got from backwoodsdaydreamer, and suspended with a set of constrictor lines of amsteel( not whoopie slings), and some polyester webbing.

The hammock itself is 9ftX5ft. i double rolled the edges, and put 2 rows of stitching around all 4 sides. i used a steel ring from home depot, and put an amsteel loop in it using a double fisherman's bend. i larks-headed the loop and ring onto the ends, after i had whipped them.

The amsteel constrictor (1/8 inch amsteel) uses one long piece of cord, with another piece as the constricting sheath. i basically did what he did in this vid: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=aBiGD--SOFg [/URL]
I used about 8.5 feet of cord per side, and i have 5 feet of adjustability.

For my tree huggers i just have a loop sewn into one side of the strap, and i used 2 box stitches to make the loop. i also use a marlin spike hitch, that i made from an old aluminum arrow-they weigh as close to nothing as you can get so i carry them instead of finding a stick.

Thanks so much to back woods daydreamer, and you-all who are probably reading this, for giving me advice and ideas!!
    Thanks, Dan
