Why 2 tarps? Can't you just use a bigger tarp. Find 3 trees, use one as a common tree for both hammocks, then the other 2 for the other ends. One tarp over both.
Hickery and I had our tarps over-lapped in a huge storm at the Linville Gorge. Small hang site ... only option.
Nary a drop of water came in.
Just think about how the rain may flow.

Thanks for the options guys!!!...thought of a bigger tarp but I already have 2...maybe get a big blue tarp if we are car camping.
