Hennessey Stuff Sack Bishop Bag Conversion

This was my first DIY project so I kept it simple. I converted the stock Hennessy stuff sack into a bishop bag via the addition of a fabric-reinforced hole in the bottom of the bag.

I attached two pieces of canvas together: one piece inside the bag and the second on the outside such that the nylon of the bag is sandwiched between. I then used my wife's sewing machine to add a button hole to the center of the canvas pieces.

The final result won't win any beauty pageants, but is definitely functional!

You had better luck than me I used my warbonnet traveler bag and used a grommet at end and it tore out in one trip looks good

I'll be taking it out for a two-night trip next weekend, so we'll see how it holds up. The button hole feels pretty sturdy though, so I'm not too worried.

Nice job. I was planning on something similar. I was going to add a layer of ripstop inside and out then popping a tarp grommet in. Now I may just go with your version if it works well. Keep us informed.

Found this thread after thinking of how to make a double end stuff sack or Bishop Bag. I ended up making one from my HH stuff sack using a brass grommet.
The stuff sack is already ripstop, so I didn't bother with an extra layer of fabric, there won't be that much stress on it anyhow (I think.)
