Very good, Thanks for the vid and pics. This helps the tarpless, such as my self, in their quest for a quality, good looking shelter.
Thanks again!

I was looking at zpacks, but im just not that fond of Ct.1k.08 for tarps. Especially if sewn. Thats such a beautiful tempting rig though. I've got some cuben headed my way, im gonna make a Ct.2k.08 tarp. Nice rig.
I am very interested in this tarp and saving my pennies. Thanks for the great pictures and video raul. I am though quite curious if the catenary ridge is nessicary and if catenary cut edges are worth it for extra taughtness.
If you guys were to get this tarp would you get a cat cut ridge? Also would you get cat cut edges (like the maccat)?
Ikemister. What is a ct.2k.08 tarp if you don't mind me asking. I've never heard of that.
I'm sorry, I just looked up that type of cuben fiber and found it was the thicker more durable .6.
Sorry, I just did a seach and found that cuben fiber was the thicker and more durable .6 fabric. I read this on BPL and it came from MLD. I also looked up the zpacks cuben and it said they are made with the .6 so wouldn't that make it the ct2k.08? Not the ct1k?

I'd be interested in knowing how durable this material is. For instance, does it puncture easily (with hammocks, its tree debris), snag easily, how’s it hold up in the wind and hail, etc.? Just the general wear and tear compared to a good silnylon tarp or standard material. Also, I know that some materials are unusually "noisy" and would like to know it cuben material is one of these?
Thanks

The Ct.2.k.08 weighs 0.74 oz/sy. The 0.6 quoted is a sailmakers yard.
Unfortunately, since cuben was first developed for sails (think America's Cup), the terminology is in sailmakers jargon. And we thought they developed this stuff for our hammock tarps
As a result of this, confusion reigns on cuben (a little tarp humor). When researching this stuff, you really have to know what you are looking at.
BTW, cuben isn't noisy like Spinnaker is. It is very strong but doesn't stretch at all and therefore, doesn't handle shock loads well. Best to use springy line tensioners of some type, IMHO.
