Buck Lake is a private camp area that is accessible by an unimproved (dirt) road about 2-3 miles off rt 19. The accomodations are limited, in that, there is only a pit toilet and no electricity.

This is about much the same as you've experienced - there is no single area that will accomodate everyone to hang. Many will have to go a few hundred yard up/down the trail or have to bushwack to a perfect pair of trees.

There is however, a very nice common area on the waterfront with a fire pit and several picnic tables.

There is a hand well (in the common area) that provides what is considered the best water in ONF.

Excellent trip report. It makes me that much more excited about the hang in January.
