    Guy Lines and Ridgeline

Just received my superfly tarp (WBBB hammock on the way) and trying figure out my lines.

I have some Brownell's 400# fast flight line left over from a bowfshing rig.

Any reason this wouldn't work for the guy lines and ridge line?

I think I need 2 for the ridgeline, 4 for the corner guy lines, 4 for the stake outs on the tarp and 2 for the WBBB hammock.

What length is recommended for each of these lines?

I plan to get some shock cord for the corner guy lines as well.

    Thanks

I don't see why it wouldn't work for the tarp.

I don't have a WB but I like my guy lines long so I can reach something substantial like a sapling. 10 to 15' on my diamond tarp guy lines, but I probably onlr need 6'. If it's a "loop" where it goes from taro to stake and back to tarp, just eyeball a good angle and leave a little extra in one end if you want them long.

I use a continious ridgeline on my tarp but the line is actually two pieces that are tied together using a sheet bend in the center of the tarp. One is about 12' and the other us about 18'. Thus allows me to get around fat trees and if I encounter very fat trees spaced far apart, I can split the line In the center and tie both directly to the tarp ends and rech much further.

As I mentioned, I like mine long.

For my square tarp, I use lots of different length lines for it. Some are short 6' and others are as long as 15'. I can rearrange them as needed.

Oh snap. I like the idea of splitting the ridgeline.
