Thumbs up Sounds great. I'm definitely interested!

Sounds like a great idea (at a great location) to 'show & tell' all the positives about hammocks... A 'win-win'... I'm in! - plus I really want to see the AT Museum, too!!

I already checked my work schedule (working every weekend in April, 2011) and will take a couple of vacation days - it will be well worth it to attend my first group hang, meet some HF members, share past experiences, and see some possible future gear closet acquisitions ()...
This summer I spent 3 weeks out in CA near/on the PCT - also spent much of that time explaining my hammock set-up and giving 'test rides' to PCT thrus, fellow trail crew members, and others... Maybe a convert or two, if THEY are 'lucky' to investigate further (must have written out "hammockforums.net" at least 20 times!) and give it a try!

Any potential of making this an annual event, perhaps becoming the Spring MAHHA hang? - Nothing whatsoever against Gathland SP, MD - especially since I haven't been there yet! (emphasis on the word yet!! ) Having two locations annually might add a little variety???

I'm looking forward to PGF in April - can't wait!!
    Happy trails!!!

I took a trip over to PGFSP a couple of weeks ago and gathered some footage of the hang site. Hopefully this will all work out for a fantastic hang in the spring!

This looks like a great time. I havent been to Pine Grove since I was a little kid. Went their with my sleep away camp for a few nights. Great time, remember it haveing a really nice beach and lake to swim in. Am I thinking of the right place and Mrs. LRR will be more then happy to get in on the ground dwelling close to the bathrooms and showers. Ill keep my eye out for up dates.
Sometimes I like to hike and think, And sometimes I just like to hike.

Hiking is'ent about waiting for the storm to pass its about learning to hike in the rain.

I have kayaked on the lakes there, may bring the yak. They also have 4-wheeler trails up on top of the Mtn. Never been on them, but that me be another option.

PGFSP had a facelift about three years ago. They added new restrooms, a beachfront concession and shower areas, electric on the camping sites, and the AT museum. It went from a primitive state park to modern quickly. The Iron Masters hostel is also being renovated and should be up and running by spring...hopefully.
