    WOW … I remember that hike northbound out of the Nantahala Outdoor Center. If anyone is thinking about hiking the AT or just getting in shape, I would highly recommend that section. Nice trip report and pics WP66 …

    I too have had to do the mug in the water to fill the filter bag thing ..... kinda feels good to improvise!

    I too just got home from Blood Mountain. Water was scarce here too. At Slaughter Creek had to pull rocks out of the "supposedly creek" and dig out the dirt. Then wait for it to fill up with water.
    Can't wait to get to the section you're talking about.
