I also think some people just have a natural eye to as how the hammock should hang and are very good at repeatedly hanging it in there comfy zone. Structual ridgeline just keeps you from second guessing yourself and setting it right quickly. Again JMO!

how do you guys deal with a low tie? can you use the structural ridgeline as a weight tensioning part rather than just a guide?

First post here so I am still getting broken in... I found another thread that gave some info too.

    Thanks guys...

    Welcome to the fourm!

Can you explain "low tie" for those of us with a caffeine addiction (haven't had enough yet)? Do you just mean that you will be hanging close to the ground? All the ridgeline (structural) is going to do is set the same sag everytime. If I understand your problem correctly, you are getting too much vertical drop when you get in and it's causing you to bottom-out. A tightly pulled ridgeline will lead to more drop when you load the hammock. Only cure I know is to put more angle in your suspension prior to loading the hammock. But, this usually requires tying off at a higher point.

Probably doesn't help, but maybe I'm misreading something. Wouldn't be the first time.
    Trust nobody!
