    Angry Crisis / Vandalism

    HELP!!

My relatively new SB Pro has been vandalized. Someone ( I have a primary suspect, can do nothing about it, already talked to the cops. ) cut my hammock at the foot end 3 times, tearing the center cut 9". The smaller cuts & initial center cut are about 1" long. The cuts & tear are long ways not across the hammock, & as I said, at the foot end about 2' from the end.

Now, my question: Has anyone repaired a tear / cuts like this? HOW? How sturdy was the repair?

My thoughts: I can put the tears / cuts together & Zigzag stitch along them using wide stitches. I don't really want to add material, although I do have a few scraps of sil that I could use without adding (much) weight.

I cant afford a new hammock at this time, but can't do without. So any help fixing this would be appreciated.

Going to also ask Grand trunk if they have any suggestions.

I am so beyond PISSED I can't see straight!!

I'm not familiar with that: And stitching or just straight up? Would it be strong enough?

If the tears are in-line with the lay of the hammock I think a zig zag would work. If they are sideways to the lay, then I think there isn't much you can do for it.

I've got some gear repair tape I can send if you want. Maybe tape it up then sew thru it?? I got blue, black or green. If you want it just shoot me a PM with an address.

Wow, this is unconscionable...if you know who it was get a motion sensor hunting camera thingy, they take pictures when they see movement.

So sad. Was it in the yard or on a trip?

For repairs I'd use some material (possibly the sil you have) and sew them on as patches. Use a straight stitch. Zig-zag is really for stretchy things.
