I have just received 7yds of 1.9 ripstop. I have my amsteel blue and webbing. The only thing I don't have is thread. What kind of thread (make, manufacturer) do I need? Do you use the same for sewing the webbing also? Support system?
Thanks.
Eric

Gutterman 100% polyester is highly recommended for outdoor applications- cotton or poly-cotton will retain moisture and fail much sooner than 100 poly (though both will suffer from UV exposure.) go to reputable sewing/craft shop and look for the rainbow rack of spools- about 3" long, will be made of white plastic, content is printed on the ends. ask if you can't find it; do not accept "this other stuff is just the same". try another shop.
Hope that helps! KM
ps don't get the clear nylon thread- it stretches like mad...will cause you to go mad also.
On mine I used 100% Polyester thread I got at WalMart. I usually just bite my thread at length. With the 100% Poly thread I have to cut it, that stuff is strong. It will make a huge difference.
