REI has this hammock for sale on its site - a Grand Truck Tree Sling Hammock. I can't seem to find any info on it that would help differentiate it from the other GT hammocks - its not listed on their website. Anybody know anything about it?

What do you do with this hammock? Sleep under a piece of ripstop? Hard to believe the weight and load limit though. Sorry, I don't have any info on it--but the price is sure right. If it really weighs 12 ounces with a net (or some kind of cover), I'll buy one myself. Keep us posted!!!

Looks like it's just the hammock with S-hook. The suspension is on sale too, but not the type of suspension usually used on HF. No bugnet or tarp.

I'm trying to figure out if this is just a travel hammock with the tree sling suspension in a package and, therefore, called a tree sling hammock or just what it is. I may go ahead and order and see.
I'm not sure about this one. The Ultralight Traveler hammock GT sells is listed as made from '100% polyester taffeta', their parachute nylon traveler is 'nylon parachute silk' - this one says ripstop nylon. Confusing ...

Don't do it. It's only 8'1" long. There's nothing that short anywhere on the Grand Trunk website. I guess it might work if you're under 5' tall.
It's only $3 less than the Hawaiian Hammock from Grand Trunk, but the Hawaiian is longer by 1'5", wider by 6", and weighs 1 ounce less.
The Ultralight Travel Hammock from Grand Trunk is also 1'5" longer than the REI thing, 6" wider, and weighs the same for $20.
I'm sure REI will get some people to buy these things, but I'm not sure why. It's not as though ripstop is an upgraded fabric as far as comfort so that can't be the reason. Beats me, but I don't think I'd buy one.

Read the reviews. Positive and one guy says to GET the suspension package. Seems to NOT be a part of the package
