The Wallcreeper PL is a superior design for wearing as jacket, due to the armholes, but its rather weighty.
The frogsac is the other way round, less weight and not allowing full movement of the arms,
Myself, I bought a plain poncho liner with the same weight as the Frogsac, but for a measly € 20,-. Then I had a slit cut and lined around the edges for a headhole. Another € 20,-
Now I have a warm blanket and a warm serape and full movement of the arms.
    Pic to follow.
Exped makes a pretty sophisticated "Bivy-Poncho_liner", too:

asside from the obvious advantaged os it being convertible from a bag to a coat, it also is a center zip (easier to manuver in a hammock) has both both horizontal and vertical down baffles, etc

but i'm scared to look for a price

well are those down? i know some people (experienced hikers too) who use synthetic for their own reasons (one guy sweats easily and says the down is more of a pain to him)

The Wallcreeper is available in a down and a synthetic (primaloft) version. If you want a hammock bag for colder conditions I reccomend the Feathered Friends Rock Wren.

If this style bag has a drawback it is the larger footbox (this is required to enable you to pull it over your head) and I'm not sure this is much of a liability above 20F.

I got my PL Wallcreeper on sale (Altrec?) for $100 plus shipping, that isn't much more than a Jardine quilt kit, and about as warm as his standard quilt.

Until I can afford the wallcreeper, and have decided whether to go with down or synthetic:

    Ugly, warm, cheap.
Come spring I will make a cover for the hole from an old fleece shawl and a couple of buttons and use it as a blanket, too.

Yeah - most bags that light are down and the quilts can get a bit lighter. Synthetic quilts can come in that light, but when synthetic bags get that light they're usually not into the 30s range. But synthetic insulation is getting better so it may not be too far off.

i got it cause it was super light and easier to take care of. It was kinda an impulse, cause it was 20% off, and i was leaving that day on a hike. That was before I found hammocks.

When I can, I am going to make a down quilt similar to the JRB, but fitting to a HH differently, and tapering along the side near the top and bottom.

I just got a Sierra Designs Wicked Light with a half zip and can't wait to try it. What do you use for an under pad or quilt with it Jeff?
